The Gift of Creativity in God´s Kingdom

Have you ever been in the situation, that you are doing something nearly automatically and suddenly somebody asks you: "How are you doing this? "
So it was for me when I was asked about prophetic painting and being creative in God's Kingdom. I realized that I am doing something not everybody is familiar with.
When I gave my life to Jesus, I was a student of architecture and arts. So in the prayer time, when the pastor laid his hands on my shoulder, I asked him: "How can God use arts in his kingdom? "
Interesting question, when we look into all the old churches – what do we see there? Paintings, sculptures, perfect architecture, colored glass, and windows… And each of them has to do with creativity; it is only another form to worship the LORD.
Yes, there are as well idols and altars that shouldn't have been made by anybody, but the basics are creative gifts, and that's what we want to look at today.
There is another interesting question coming up: "Where do we find creativity in scripture? Is there any proof? "Yes, there is, and I will guide you through.
In the beginning, there was only Adam and God, and God gave Adam a task, which sounds easy; Adam should give every animal a name. But do you know how many names he had to create? I don't know how many animals were there in paradise, but this task is the first creative act in scripture. God gave us creativity, and he wants us to use it. Adam had no scripture, no bible school, and no other teacher than God. So when he received everything from God that he needed for his calling, we can trust that he gave us what we need for our calling, too.
My favorite artist in scripture is Bezalel, who is mentioned in Exodus 31:1-6 and in the chapters 35 to 39. Bezalel means "in the shadow of God ", and he was the chief artisan in the time of Mose. Bezalel was in charge of building the Ark of the covenant

Craftsmen: Bezalel and Oholiab
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft!
Exodus 31:1-6

This is the best testimony anybody can ever get. God equipped him with everything, and before he even started, God said he is a master craftsman and an expert. God always thinks about you from his perspective, and he sees in you what he has given you and prepared for you if you live in it and use it or not. So, what about you?
Do you feel God's calling on your life in any way leading into something creative? Maybe you haven't ever thought about being creative, but if we have all the same Heavenly Father, then he laid the same potential to be creative in everybody, that means in you, too.
Each of us has different gifts that lead to different results, but we are creative because our creator is the master of all creativity. Where do I know this from?
Look into the music world, into movies, theatre, paintings, sculptures, architecture,  poems, and books that are published each year, but not from Christians, and many of them with absolute evil content and the aim to carry people to hell easily. These people are gifted, but not using their gifts for the kingdom of God.

But let us have a look at Bezalel again he is mentioned in Exodus 35:30-35:
Then Moses told the people of Israel, "The LORD has specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. The LORD has filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft. And the LORD has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach their skills to others. The LORD has given them special skills as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple, and scarlet thread on fine linen cloth, and weavers. They excel as craftsmen and as designers.

Do you see the variety of gifts Bezalel got from God? So when we see what God gave him, why don't we pay attention to bringing all our gifts into God's Kingdom. I am sure you found something in the description that you are already doing, or you would like to do it.
There is no reason and no excuse not to use your gift for God. There are so many areas where we need gifted people. From a cool kids service, a decorated church entrance, a freshly planted church garden, a renovated church building, advertising for the services and activities, social media presence and a designed website, worship and self-composed music for prayer times, worship with dance and flags… I could endless type a long list, but I think it is long enough to show you how sincerely we need creative people who love to serve the Lord with their gifts.
I heard a Pastor preach: "If you don't use your gift, you are a thief to the next generation. "Maybe this message pushes you a bit forward as it did to me.
I hope part 1 inspired you to think about creativity in church a bit; differently, I will talk about prophetic painting, especially in part 2
